New business: if I run my business credit report, could that hurt me?

I just got my EIN for my sole proprietorship, no sales yet. I'm guessing that my credit file may not exist yet (not sure, I'm no expert).

I was thinking of running some free business credit reports on myself to see how it looks, make sure it doesn't have any wrong addresses etc.

Could that hurt me in some way I didn't think of?

Pulling your own report won't count as an inquiry if you're doing so to check for accuracy.

Since your sole proprietorship is brand new with no sales and just received an EIN, it’s likely you don’t have a business credit file yet (unless a credit bureau somehow tied info to your name or address preemptively).

Slightly off topic, but why apply of a EIN as sole proprietorship, and not with a basic single member LLC?

Good question. In my case it's because on the one hand, I don't feel I need the protection of the LLC and I also don't want to do the work for the LLC; on the other hand, I do still want the EIN in case it helps me to seem more official to some financial companies (and possibly to avoid giving them my SSN in some cases).

My reasoning could be off.
