TransUnion - logins with a PW manager no longer allowed?

I have been montioring a dispute recently and had no issues until today. Suddenly logging in using my pw manager (Apple) does not work and more than 2 tries suspends my account. Called support and they are telling me they no longer support that functionality. The require you to manually type in *both* your username and pw or else the account gets suspended. This seems beyond unacceptable to me.

Oh and they have a new iPhone app which you can download but will not recognize my account. So they direct you back to the old app which now also won't work because the pw requirements for the new pw length is too long to fit into the old app's pw field. Effectively this renders both the old app and the new upp useless.

Curious if anyone else is having issues.

Most apps are a privacy nightmare - designed to collect your data. I hope you regain access to your account, but just say no to apps

I don't use Apple’s password manager but Proton Pass. It works as usual. My passwords are random and at least 14 symbols, so a password manager is a must-have.

Sites that make password managers difficult to use are just a PITA for no good reason. We need PW managers to keep our accounts secure.

That said, some PW managers have an autotype feature where it "types" the credentials into the fields instead of pasting them, which can get around some of the problematic sites that won't work the regular way.

But, why do sites make things difficult for us? Another peeve of mine are sites that ask for the username/email on one page and the password on the next, that makes PW managers difficult to use because they don't autofill the username.

For the OP: don't bother with the apps, go to the website instead.

Agreed...besides, sometimes it takes longer to access by app than by just going directly to the website, which is exactly the opposite of why apps are supposedly created.

I use Firefox on my computer and phone (android), no issues logging in. TU did change their login page relatively recently, but after figuring it out my PW manager sends it with no problems getting access. I would ditch the app and/or apple.
