Cap1 CreditWise VS to Fico Change Notice

Just FYI for anyone hasn't yet received an email, or without Cap1 accounts:

We’re updating the credit scoring version you see on CreditWise. Once you’re updated, you’ll see your FICO® Score 8 instead of your VantageScore® 3.0 credit score. As a result, the score you see may change.

FICO® Score 8 uses a different method of calculating your score than VantageScore® 3.0. Your TransUnion® credit report is still the source from which your score is formulated.

This is a really good development! Especially since they will be giving us TransUnion FICO 8. The other two bureau scores seem to be easier to get for free. Right now I only get a once-a-month free TU snapshot from Huntington. Now, I can get realtime TU score.

free daily TU FICO 8?

any news on if it's still going to be delay that sounds amazing (and expensive for them)

Very cool. TU8 is a huge upgrade from VS3, especially since free access to TU8 is so hard to come by. (I think some issuers provide it, but none that I have.)

I still have VS3 too. Here's the verbatim email:

My Capital One login still shows TU VantageScore 3 for me too.

I wonder if the upcoming change could have anything to do with the Discover merger. My Discover login provides a TU FICO8 score.

Rollout expected to be complete summer 2025.

Just because they're switching to FICO doesn't necessarily mean they're staying with TransUnion as most are assuming.

I certainly hope they do though.

TU FICO scores are hard to come by.

My only source currently is with my Discover card, but I figured out last year that Discover has some issues updating their data.

Hopefully that's not mimicked by Capital One.

Good point and Discovers credit score page is really lite on info compared to other Credit cards....only one that I have with as little Info as Discover is my USAA Amex account

🥲 I liked looking at my 820's score TU VS3 on CreditWise. It get me a warm and fuzzy even though I know it wasn't my FICO score (which I know is not going to get that high for a long time), LOL.

I checked my wife's CreditWise and hers is still showing Vantage Score, so it's not for everyone yet apparently.

I haven't even gotten the email notice yet. I wonder if VX will roll out first followed by V, Savor, and then the rest.
