Another unauthorized inquiry

I check my credit report and see this:

The phone number does not work. What do I do next to get this non-PP inquiry removed?

HSBC is the administrator for MULTIPLE CCCs. Are you sure it wasn't from something you applied for?

It was on my equifax report online. I have not applied for any credit all year.

EQ reports on line show HARD and SOFT Pulls...

Soft pulls are not un-authorized. You have to opt-out of future credit offers to stop soft inq's.

These are not hurting your score if the are soft.

If they are hard pulls, then it is easy enough to dispute them into oblivion. But my guess is that they are in the "Soft inquiries not effecting your credit" section of your EQ online report.

I would dispute the inquiry with the CRA as a non-authorized inquiry.

I would also further investigate. I would press EQ to give you further info about the inq to contact the lender. I would want to know if it was a simple mistake or if someone used your social. I have had both simple mistakes and fraud happen. Sometimes I get answers, other none. But you should try.

I'm wondering about this issue also. Have a HARD Inq on TU

Truelogic Financial Corp Permissible Purpose: Collection

But-

Truelogic is not shown as a CA on my report nor has Truelogic ever contacted me. I do not know what 'collection' they have. How are they able to get my entire CR?

Yes I have a Bestbuy Card but it wasn't them. I just figured it out and it's all going to be taken care of. I have an Oreck account that is retail services and they said they gave me a duplicate account by mistake and have sent out letters to the CRA's to the the account and inquiry romoved.

Glad it worked out. See if they can send you a copy of the letter to the CRA as a back up.
