I sent out my very FIRST (and only) PFD last Saturday and as I type this, there is a certified letter to me from the CA sitting at the post office! I am so nervous! I can't believe they responded SO quickly-- is that a good thing or a bad thing?! I hate that I have to wait until morning to go get the letter! Ahhh! What if I get sued!?

Sincerely,

Freaking Out

If you think about it, a reply should be fast. How long does it take to say yes or no?

Guess you'll be wondering until you open it. No pressure or anything...

OPEN IT

The worse that can happen is they reject your letter.

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, am I going to get a present or COAL?!

I will update after I read the letter. If they agree to the PFD I am going to need this forum's help on the next steps to take--please!

Well the account is from rent that my old roommates didnt pay (long story). I checked the sites around here that give time-frames for SOL and I couldn't tell if it was 3 years or 10 years. But I want this stupid TL OFF my report, I don't really want to be sued but I figured I had a better chance with a PFD at 60% settlement. The original amount is $680, I offered $408. I dont know why they would sue me for an extra $270 but I wouldnt put it past them. If they don't agree to the PFD I am going to request DV and dispute as "Not mine".

I live in SC btw...

Edited to add: I do not have time to go sorting through piles of SC's legal mumbo-jumbo regarding SOL. I tried checking the websites that have been referenced in this forum and all I found was 3 years and 10 years SOL. I could not find a debt that was similiar to mine and a corresponding SOL. At this point, I have already sent PFD and was told I was not in their system. This tells me CA doesn't WANT to spend time and money looking for my records so why would they spend time and money suing me in court?

Message Edited by MeganML84 on 09-14-2007 10:05 PM
