Length of time reporting to credit bureau

I have a utility account that got reported at 120 days past due. (I moved and was careless and missed a bill.) The delinquency actually happened in July 2002. It is being reported to Equifax as being 120 days past due August 2005. The following dates are listed on my credit report:

Date of last activity 7/2002

Date opened 6/1998

Date reported 2/2007

Date of last payment 3/2005 - I believe that I paid this off at this time.

Date closed 9/2002

Should this be reporting as August 2005? Which date does the 7 year clock start on?

I think it's date of last activity. That is why you don't pay off old collection accounts (longer than three years) because it starts the clock ticking again and massively dings your credit.

DOFD should be in 2002 and should drop in 2009. look at EX and EQ report for drop off date

I haven't checked with Experian but I don't see a "drop off date" on my Equifax report. Do I have to call to get that info?

Date of last activity: 07/2002

Date of last payment: 03/2005

Date opened: 06/1998

It is only showing up on Eq

DOLA only has to due with SOL not CRTP If you paid in 2005 you prob.re-aged SOL to start counting 2005
