Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as long as they are reporting the status as of the date they had the account they are all valid reports. Each time its sold resultsin a new entry. The good news is that they should all fall off on the date of last delinquency. Make sure they are all shwoing 0 bal due. It won't improve your score but it WILL keep you from having open collections or chargeoffs showing. Time is the master here.

EQ verified 3 trade lines on the same account

In 2004 I took out a personal loan for around $1000 with a small hometown finance company. In 2005 the company was sold to Citizens Fin., which is owned by Regency, which is owned by FNB. I went dlq in 2005 and never made another pmt. In 2006 Cit Fin assigned my account to a collection agency. Last month I paid the agency in full. The paperwork work shows it was assigned by Cit. Fin in 10/06. Now heres the problem, the original creditor, cit Fin and regency are all reporting on my EQ only. Same date open, high credit, term, and pmt amnt. I sent in a dispute to have the Regency and original creditor removed but all 3 came back verified by EQ as "not the same". These are the same accounts! What should I do next? Aren't these considered the same creditor? I just want the proper one to report.
