Wash Mtl.

Hi all. Anyone have any feedback and ideas on how to get rid of Wash Mtl/Prov. account. They bought out Providian a few yrs back. To make long story short, I disputed after acct was sold to LVNV - and was sued (did not realize was within Statute of Limitations). Sooo, I paid for darn near all that was due. They are now off my credit report but Wash Mtl. refuses to budge. Any feed back please. Thanks.

So Wash Mtl harassing you for the portion you didn't pay when you were sued? If you were sued and a judgement was awarded it should be on your report under pulic records.

No, I just want them off the report now since they will remain for 2.5 more years. Best way to go about it? Anyone? Thanks

They are on mine too showing 0 balance but "re-aged" account. FDOD was I think Dec '01 but (2) other groups - WAMU and LVNV are reporting "new" as of April '04...................

Any help??? I know it's a lot higher and I'm guessing I'll never really get the hearing - they are on for the push but it's Dec'07 before SOL is out, and I think that's when this latest law firm is set for the court hearing...and I'm not positive how to prove when I made my last pymt...other than perhaps old CR?

It's reporting charge off/bad debt, $0.00 balance. But again, LVNV was paid and they removed their entry after payment. Now Wash mtl is still hanging around, refusing to remove their entry. Must be some way to dispute them off of the report. What say you?

I went into delinquency for Sears card and Sears mastercard..they were being reported on my report for quiet a while until LVNV bought the account and they hired a collection agency to collect the debt...

They entry i have on my credit report is from LVNV with the "DATE OPENED" of Dec 2005. Whereas my actual Sears and Sears MC were opened in like 2002.

So, for nothing, my removal date from Credit reports just got extended 3 something years!!

They been paid since last year and im hoping that none of them come back. Only LVNV appear on my credit report, not the original Sears anymore.

ALSO, they are still reporting this account on my reports every month eventhough it has been paid mid-2006.

Any suggestion from anybody who know how to deal with this situation?

Did LVNV report to Washingtom Mutual that the account was paid? What happens most of the the time, these collection agency "BUY" accounts from creditors and come after the customer for the money. Most people think collection agencies are a part of the company that u owe. They are not, I owed $8000.00 to a comoany settled with the collection agency for $1500.00. That was $1500.00 free money to the collection agency, that's the way I look at it. I'm pretty sure they bought it from the creditor for alot les than that. The only thing, it shows up on your report as a settlement.

FYI-LVNV likes to re-age your credit report, which is illegal. What I mean by that is, if they initillay report you in 2005, update your CR in 2006, they will show a date of 2006 so that it will look like it was just put on your account in 2006. If you see this happen with any company report them and you can request that account be removed for re-aging an account. I had them removed for that.

if you have two negatives on your report for the same "debt" you can dispute that as well. That will count as 2 negatives instead of one. Hopes this helps

I don't think your "date of first delinquency" or "date of first delinquency" is effected by "date opened". The acct has not been reaged. Date opened means date they received acct from orig. credit, etc. For your information.

Anyway, i guess no one has an answer for deleting Wash/mtl.

How the heck did you get the illegally re-aged account removed for LVNV - I have tried FOR TWO YEARS and they refuse to remove the dang thing...just keep extending the dang reporting time too....WAMU - I have had NO success getting that removed - I"ve shown it's the same account number but they refuse to remove...

I was sued by attorney for LVNV after I disputed within the SOL (my dumb mistake) and was FORCED to pay. I waited for 6 months and disputed the account and not mine and they were more than happy to delete it - after I had paid them of course.

what law firm sued you? I'm real sick of never getting a response from LVNV directly - I've disputed with them a few times, requested validation a year ago as soon as the new one surfaced and got no response for 6 fricking months...they seem to send me some form of crap every 6 months or so...now I had received the "Informational STatement" to which I did not respond because I believed according to the law that they had missed their opportunity because they didn't validate.

I am based on a recommendation from someone here going to send another request for Validation, though I'm honestly not sure what that will gain me because the response will still be met with the same nothing...it appears I'm scheduled for a court appearance in December, right before SOL from OC is out.

beach123, I'm going through the same thing with LVNV. I sent them a DV, which they did not respond to. I'm wondering how some of these people have managed to get them off of their reports. I've also disputed several times-every time they validate. Any luck yet?

I have this account on my report as transferred, but paid after chargeoff. I have been trying to get this deleted forever. I have sent a DV letter with no response. I have called them and all they can give me is the name of the CA that the acct is now transferred to.

But guess what the new CA no longer has the acct either, and the CA they referred me to does not have it anymore either.

When I dispute this, it comes back as verified. Not sure what to do.

Okay just becasuse one company removed it doesn't mean that the other will. If WaMu is refusing, just wait it out for 2.5 more years. Believe it or not as old as it is FICO considers it a minor delinquency even though it looks major to you. By the time it falls off you probably won't even notice a score increase with the exception of 1 or two points..

If you've killed em with kindness, you've done all you can do except for the old 'rinse and repeat' that simply means keep asking. More than likely you will jsut have to wait it out.

on the WM thing. I had some success with them in deleting from my file. I called (after months of sending DV's) and asked to speak to the "manager of credit reporting". I was/am not sure if this is a real title or not but I got to talk to a woman who actually listend to me explain the how's and whys I got behind for a couple of months and that now since my account was paid in full, could they chage or remove the "baddie" from my file. She agreed that this was nothing to them and she would take care of it. exactly 2 weeks later, got a letter from WM that it was done and ran my report and guess what? It was. Worth a try
