Trouble trying to dispute

I am trying to dispute several items on my credit report through experian. Unfortunately, the addresses they have listed I have never lived at(Ive never even lived in the state of those addresses) and their online site won't allow me access(because of the incorrect addresses) to dispute these items. Ive tried the phone number given to make a dispute, but all the options do not lead me towards the dispute claim. Any ideas what to do?

I got all three of my credit reports from creditreport.com my experian report shows several items that have my address in another state I have never lived in. This creates a problem disputing it since experian uses your address to verify its you filing the dispute.

Search the boards for the Experian FAX number for disputes. I've never pulled from the service you used so I don't know if they have a direct link for EX disputes or if they do and you still can't get into it. Try this link as well: https://www.experian.com/consumer/cac/InvalidateSession.do?code=CDIRESELLER&rid=R004

Try to input your address exactly as it appears on your report (the correct addy).

Also, if you have ever had an account directly with experian.com, retrieve it and reactivate it, might make it easy to bypass all the trouble you are having.

Hope something works, but if not, FAX it in.

Thank you for your help so far. The 7654 number redirects you to another number that is an adult phone service. The other number leads to dead ends via experian. I treid the online dispute form you linked to no avail. I even inputed the addresses from my other credit report. Nothing is allowing me access to dispute this. This is bloody frustrating. I need access to dispute the addresses, but I can't get access because the addresses are wrong. catch 22. Are there any other ways of getting a hold of these people? As far as the fax goes, do they have a form I can fill out pdf file or anything that I can fax in?

I am looking at my DW dispute form the number they have there is 8005098495 that was as of sept 6 2007. hope this helps

I do not believe there is a FAX form, but I'm thinking you would be wise to straighten out the identity issue first so that your disputes are not thrown into some heap.

Thank you for the help. I finally got through on one of the numbers. Basically I called corporate and got transfered. The young gal informed me the only way to dispute is via the online form. I told her the online form would not process for me since the dispute deals with the address. I asked to speak to someone who could help me fix this. She said that would be the dispute department, but they do not have a phone number. SO I asked her what my options were. She informed me to use the online dispute form. Again I stated my position. After going back and forth I finally asked to speak to a supervisor and was hung up on. I immediately sent a complaint to the FTC. Right now I seem to have no options to clear up my credit since I can't even file a dispute.

Sounds like you've been a victim of identity theft...were some of the accounts on the report not yours? Are the incorrect addresses only on your Experian report or on the other 2 as well?

according to the FTC site:

Consumer Reporting Company Obligations

Consumer reporting companies will block fraudulent information from appearing on your credit report if you take the following steps: Send them a copy of an Identity Theft Report and a letter telling them what information is fraudulent. The letter also should state that the information does not relate to any transaction that you made or authorized. In addition, provide proof of your identity that may include your Social Security number, name, address, and other personal information requested by the consumer reporting company.

The consumer reporting company has four business days to block the fraudulent information after accepting your identity theft report. It also must tell the information provider that it has blocked the information. The consumer reporting company may refuse to block the information or remove the block if, for example, you have not told the truth about your identity theft. If the consumer reporting company removes the block or refuses to place the block, it must let you know.

The blocking process is only one way for identity theft victims to deal with fraudulent information. There's also the "reinvestigation process," which was designed to help all consumers dispute errors or inaccuracies on their credit reports.

I finally got a hold of an operator in their special claims department. The number 1-800-322-3162 gets you to a live person almost immediately. She told me to mail my info to their Allen, Texas PO box. While its not the solution I was hoping for, its a start. Thanks everyone for your help.
