Search the boards for "Privacy Matters." They're affiliated in some way to TC. If you order and cancel, you'll get 1 year for $29.95. (Although, I've heard that there's a 1 year for free option out there).

TrueCredit Alternative?

Since obviously everyone here is starting to get dissed by TrueCredit, is there an equal alternative that someone might recommend for me? Also, is there one that gives TRUE FICO scores? I don't want a service that will only give me FAKO scores.

Thanks,
Joe

There are several threads going. This seems to be the hot one (I'm on Firefox; you'll have to copy/ paste into your browser window):

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=generalcredit&thread.id=48854

There are no daily pull services that give FICO scores. The daily pulls services are just to look at your reports, not your scores. If you see big activity on your reports, that's an indicator to pull the FICO's if you want. Sometimes FAKO score movement indicates FICO score movement, but often not.

Of course, you could cough up $40+ a day to FICO! But, no.

BTW, I got confirmation from Barry, one of the FICO admins, that FICO has to pay the CRA's whenever a FICO score is pulled. That's why FICO scores are so expensive, and why they don't have a plan for frequent pulls at a discount.

It would be obvious to any of their marketing people, reading these forums, that there would be a huge market for a product like that. The only thing that I could figure is that FICO had to make some sort of usage fee to the CRA's, and that set the lowest figure they could charge.

Oh, well... don't really need to feed the addiction any more than I already do!
