Who is Beneficial Financial?

I have an alert from Experian's freecreditreport.com's Triple Advantage score monitoring system. It shows an inquiry from Beneficial Financial on 11/11/07, and a new account on 11/01/07.

I've not heard of these people. But at around almost precisely, exactly, kinda, sorta the same time, I applied for and got a BestBuy store card, and a QVC card.

I know the BB storecard is serviced by HSBC(that's showing up as my BB store card new account), and the QVC card is serviced by GEMb(it's showing up as new account as well).

But I don't recognize this Beneficial Financial outfit. Anyone have any ideas? I didn't apply to them.

Oh! I also pulled my CR from them when I got the alert and it's NOT showing up under new inq's OR new accounts section of CR. I'm baffled.

Corperately confusing.

Beneficial Financial seems to be it's own entity out of Utah.

But just 'Beneficial' are a member of the HSBC group and that division does do CC processing. Sounds like you got an alert for an internal review after the fact. If that is the case then it would make some sense. The hard INQ from Best Buy should show as HSBC/BSBUY and they used to be just EQ pullers.

No S.C. not checking on insurance. I did for the house back in july or august, but not life or disability. nothing recently except cc's

ahhhhhhhhhh, yes!

If it's HSBC related they could have pulled a hard on me because I requested a cli greater than the $250 they offered to me. I'll bet that could be it.

Also Beneficial Financial when youhave HSBC are known to send out those checks that you bring in to one of there offices and cash if you agree to their terms..I had one about 7 years ago...

GMAC is not a part of HSBC.

they sent me an offer just last week and it says hsbc right on it. car dealer told me that also. ?????

google gm flex card and it will show you the card. you can see the HSBC logo right on top. it also says it is a new card better than the old one. I did not take card as i am not a fan of hsbc.

I have a Car loan with GMAC Financial and Mortgage with HomeComings-
