Now What?

I had an cc account that was charged off and sold to a collection agency. I paid the account off with the ca and they agreed to remove it from my credit report. My problem is, the oc is still reporting as charged off and the ca referencing this account as paid is now gone. I thought I was doing a good thing getting the ca account off but now I'm not so sure. Is there any way to get this account off my report? Its with HSBC. Any advice?

Send a GW to the OC. Let them know you were promised by the CA that it would be removed and just state they agreed to get it removed...even if they only agreed to removing their reporting from the collection standpoint. That should work.

I would also dispute as inaccurate - since it IS paid. COuld you live with a TL 'paid' rather than charge-oof?

That would work too! But wouldn't it be nicer to be completely gone?

But yeah, if GW doesn't work, do DV. You paid it!
