credit inquiries removal

How do you get authorized inquiries from car dealership removed? We went to a few within 14 days and they do not show up as one. We did go to different dealership looking for a car, but we did not realized they do a hard inquiry. This is preventing us from getting a car. Any suggestions.

Two situations here.

If you are certain that for some reason they did not group them as one, you need to contact the CRA with the INQs.

Otherwise if you are saying you did not apply for credit, dispute the INQs and/or search the boards for the non-authorized inquiry letter to send. Know the fine print of what you signed with the auto dealer.

Tricky part is that many people are having issues with hard INQs even when they are not applying for any financing. That's a whole other can of worms regarding the Patriot Act that there are a few threads on.

Credit Reporting Agency (aka credit bureaus)

Multiple INQs won't show up as one. Multiple INQs for either a home loan or car loan will, for FICO scoring purposes, be counted as one if they are within the same de-duplication window, which I believe is actually 45 days rather than 14 days.

How many INQs on which CRA, and how do you know the INQs are what's preventing you from getting a car?
