I have had that happen. Creditors can pull your report when late, or I think whenever they want after you sign a contract. But, I called EQ on these. EQ stated they are soft pulls and do not affect your score. But, I agree, if they are not reporting late, the worst at about 3 points a pull is much better than a couple 30 day lates! Good luck.

Jameson

inquiries question

I have a loan from American General that I took out in Feb. '06. I've gotten behind a couple payments a few times this year, but I'm back on track now. I was looking at my CR today and saw two inquiries from them this year. Why would they be doing an inquiry when I already have a loan? Can I dispute this? Thanks!

The inquiries are way better then reporting the account 30days late. leave it be for now unless they start reporting you as late. The inquires will go away in a year or so but lates can last for 7 years.
