It is possible. I too had the exact same situation with Americredit. I fell behind on two payments and they took the car. They let me catch up on the payments and pay the fees and I got the car back and continued paying on-time through the end of the note, which ended 3 years ago.

Come this past August, I started to clean my credit. I had the repo reference on all three and 12 lates. I sent GWs several times without any response from Americredit at all. I then looked at the CRs and noticed that on EQ and EX deleted the repo reference completely, but kept the lates. TU kept the repo reference but deleted the lates, all of them. I'm sending a new round of GWs but they seem very workable, though lacking any input.

Goodwill Auto Repo?

Hi I have a question about auto repos and goodwill. I had a autoloan with americredit and in 2004 the vehicle was repo'd due to ex-hubby (the current hubby) not paying debt. I got car back within a week and took over the paying of the vehicle note. I was late by 30 days one time and the car was paid off by March 2006. I was able to finance and purchase another vehicle at a high interest rate (16%) and I know that the interest is high due to the repo on my credit. My question is do you think that I could get the repo off my credit report with a goodwill letter request. I am trying to repair my credit and purchase a home within the next 18 months. Any advice.
