76 point increase in my score!!!

I received an email alert from WaMu that my TU credit score had moved +/-20 points. Just checked and it went from 644 to 720!

I consolidated 2 high interest cards to a low interest installment loan a couple months ago. I am assuming this is the reason for the jump.

I also just received a letter from Wachovia that they are removing a 30 day late from 10/03. However, I am not sure if that has been updated in time to affect my Dec '07 WaMu score tracking.

Any ideas on what contributed to the jump?

I'm so curious about my other scores now!

There is really no telling. The scores you get from WAMU are bankcard scores and not your classic FICO scores.

I doubt that your GW success had anything to do with the score boost, as those scores are calculated at the first of every month. Also, your lates were over 4 yrs old and were not affecting your scores that much. So that score you got is Dec 1 score. WAMU are always a little late delivering those messages.

BTW, congrats on your scores boost, that is incredible.

When I first saw the thread, I was hoping it was due to your Wachovia GW. At any rate, congrats on the awesome increase. I am praying for the same karma with Countrywide on a couple of major derogs from 10/05.

the wachovia success letter was dated 11/19...so i guess there is a possibility that could have contributed, but i have a feeling it is probably more likely the consolidation.

Bank card score is a FICO score but it is just a weighed heavily on credit cards, not your overall credit picture.

Was that late close to five years old, you said 10/03, if so you definitely would not get that type of increase on your scores. What else have you done? Paid down CC's? Added more avail credit limits?

Sorry to rain on your parade. The good thing is, if your bankcard score went up, your classic one did too.

green if those two cards were maxed out, that could be a possible reason that your score jumped.

Both of the cards had a high util. I haven't paid anything else down any more aggressively. I'm just chipping away a little bit at a time.

As jaybee explained. You will also see it called a PFICO.

The scores we pull here are oriented toward the mortgage industry. They are modified for the CC industry and also for the auto loan industry. In each case, any credit relevant to that particular area is weighted more heavily. So they're not FAKO's, but they also will not normally be the same as your regular FICO's.

Ahh ok...I'm going to have to order my regular FICOs soon and see what they look like.
