Calvary Portfolio Help Needed !!!

Does anyone have any experience with Calvary Portfolio? I currently have a collection with this company from a past due Sprint bill from 2005. I have sent them 2 PFD on this account, and I have not heard from them. Just wanted to know if anyone has been successful with a PFD or what is my next step?

I dealt with them over a Ford loan that went bad in 2004. They refused my PFD but accepted my 55% offer to settle. After making payment I disputed with all 3 CRAs as CA agreed to delete when payment was made...Payment made 06-xx-07. It fell off all 3 of my reports a few weeks later.

I noticed that my Ford account updated to DOLA Jun 2007 from Mar 2004 during Jul 07. I assumed they were only collecting for Ford and didn't actually own the debt and Ford had them delete the TL.

Calvary did fax me letters that I asked for before making payment and they did what they promised to do for me with no headaches. This doesn't mean you will have the same experience but they replied to my PFD within about a week of me sending it. I didn't ask for only written communication so they called me but I intended to pay the debt and didn't care about them having my number. Hopefully you will have similar results. GL!

i also had a sprint bill with them, at the time i didnt no about pfd so it was paid, but i just called them about two days ago to see if i could have the old pd collection removed and they said no it only shows on my ex report, it has come off of the other two.. hopefully you will have better luck than what i did. keep me updated pl, iso badlywant to get this removed

How did you manage to get them removed from your other two reports? The collection account is reporting on all three of my reports.

I just got these guys deleted from my CR, I don't really know how it happened though. Before I knew about PFD I settled with them for 50%, about a month ago I sent them a PFD letter for the remaining 50%. I didn't hear back from them so I disputed with all 3 CRA's last week and when I did an update on TC last night the account was gone. I haven't received any letters back from the CRA's yet so I don't know if they deleted the account or if Calvary did.

once pd, my reports had dates of removal. the thing is they still came off before the dates given. (tu,eq). i pd them over two yrs ago

how long ago did they contact you. maybe they no longer have the acc. WHAT EVER YOU DO JUST DONT GIVE UP AND GIVE IN!!!!!!! how long ago did you pfd

It's always better to deal with an OC instead of a CA. However, if the CA owns the debt now and you don't want to deal with various collections from now until you get to the 7 year mark it's best to just pay them off. I'm guessing the bill wasn't THAT much if it was a cell bill. See if you can settle with them and after making payment, dispute the TL like I did. Worst case is it stays there, best case is it goes away.

As Bam said...it is always better to deal with the OC if you can. Usually you

1st dispute with CRAs

IF a CA is reporting you DV them CMRRR never talk to them! (DV same time as dispute) you can wait till dispute is complete but this speeds it up

They have 30 days to answer DV...if they do not they MUST delete!!!!

Make sur you know CRTP and your SOL before statring anything.

This is not true. The CA can valildate in 1 day or 10000000000000. They are required to set the status of your TL to disputed as soon as they get your DV so that it's still on the report you get from the CRA but not visible to anybody pulling your report but you and it's not affecting your FICO score until they do validate. Believe it or not Palisades had one of my TLs like this on TU for about month before my dispute finally killed it for good.

today I called Calvary and when I was asking her what this balance is for, she said that since I disputed with the CRA's they sent me out a fraud packet in the mail. Should I wait until I get that or go ahead and send them a CMRR today?

I also called sprint and they weren't able to pull anything up for my social even though I know it's my account, but I want to validate it with calvary first to make sure I owe this amount indeed. Any advice appreciated.

I have a collection from them that I paid a few months ago and have been trying to get it deleted since.
They claim they never delete...EVER. Unless you can provide proof you paid the collection prior to them sending it to the bureaus

No luck so far...

So they will delete if they reported it to the CRA after I paid them? Because in my case, there was nothing on my credit report before I paid those guys. A week after I settled with them and they cashed my check, they reported and my scores took a hit. I'd gladly pay them the $40-50 difference for a delete.
