VERIZON help- they verified

They are listing 2 chargeoff accounts with the CRAs, except for the minor detail that I never had 2 accounts. I don't know how they decided I have 2...

But anyway, I tried disputing with the CRAs, and it's coming back verified. I sent verizon 2 different letters, back in Dec, and one at the beginning of january, and haven't gotten any response.

Any idea what the next step should be???

Actually, I was looking at my reports again, and noticed something odd...

The first account, that was mine (short version, i didn't pay since i was waiting for a final bill, never got one, and forgot about it)

Ok, anyway, it says on that account listing that they charged off the account in april 07. The 2nd account, which I've never heard anything about, it says "opened" in april 07. It's a different account number, with a higher balance marked as a charge off.

This sound like they are trying to reage the debt on me, to make it look sooner. Is this actually legal, for them to change the account number, and start all over again?

Who is reporting Verizon or a CA -- if verizon, use the OC Plan (separate letters for each account) if a CA then DV.

Yes, it's verizon themselves.

Thanks so much for the link. I'm guessing I should send the letters certified mail, so I have a leg to stand on in case I need to threaten them some more...

Do they really only have 30 days to provide their info?

They received my letter on Nov 29, had a call from them on Dec 10 then a "Christmas Present" on Dec 24 which was the letter that they would delete

Send it to the President's Office (I actully sent to his assistant CMRRR) - not just customer serive.

So if I'm understanding correctly, I should send the letters asking for proof of account info to the Pres, not just a letter informing him of my issue. I suppose that makes sense- he's not going to want to bother probably..

Next question, do you have any clue how I can find out what the actual address to his office would be? I've googled it to death, and I'm getting 2 different addresses, in different cities. I certainly want to make sure the letter goes to the right place, and doesn't just get thrown away..

The PSC in your state certainly has it (and his name too) on file - call or email them. Failing getting an answer from PSC - send it to both addresses.
