I have two orchard cards that started at $300 each almost ayear ago. I called and asked for a cli they gave me a modest $100 on both and charged a $25 fee. They never pulled a new credit report so I assume they are still going off the old credit info and my payment hx with them which is on time, never late, and more than min. Any suggestions?

Get your balances down into the single digits if you can. This will make clear that you know the system and can PIF and shred the CC if an account manager so much as looks at you cross-eyed. Carry this pathetic excuse for a balance until, say, September.

Do you have a near-prime card with a higher CL? If so, when September comes along, call in and tell them that, since you have another CC with a higher CL and a more favorable fee structure, you have no need for your Orchard cards anymore. See what sort of stuff their customer retention department is made of.

If not, just stick with what you have for now, and if you keep balances low and payments on time, by the end of the year your FICO might just go high enough you CAN get a near-prime card with a real credit limit.

I don't think Orchard pulls an Inq for CLIs; nor do they base CLIs on previous reports. Their CLI fee is simply legal extortion.

Applied Card Bank is the worse.

--

Accept Your Offer Today!
You have been Pre-Approved* for a Credit Limit Increase from Applied Card Bank.

Please read the terms of your offer and click "Accept Terms and Submit" to process your acceptance.

Increase Amount: $350
Fee**: $100

--

Oh, and that $100 fee is treated as a cash advance!

I mentioned this last week in another thread. I called to cancel my Orchard. The CS rep went through her script, I still said I wanted to cancel. She patched me to an "account manager" who bumped me 200 bucks on the spot. I kept it since I had already paid the AF anyway.

It if had been reporting already as a positive TL it would have been different, but it was non-existent on my file. The only thing I did maybe differently than you is that I had used it a few times, charged up about $150, then did an online payment and paid off the balance within the same week.

I should have never activated the Orchard because i got approved for 3 more credit cards during the same week. If i close the Orchard, which has NOT yet appeared on my report, right now? Do you guys think its gonna appear on my report even though i closed it before it actually appeared? I know i am losing the $59 AF but i seriously do not need this card.

Yeah, that's the only unfortunate part Irvin, you have to eat that annual fee. I went ahead and kept mine after they bumped it up a few hundred bucks just because I had paid the fee. I'm keeping it for just a year, will use it periodically and pay it off, then take the scissors to it.
