IC System collection help

i've had IC systems Inc collection company contacting me about a debt for some real estate package that I never ordered. I later found out that my brother ordered it with my card (it was a deal for $9.99 and if you don't like it send it back but if you dont send it back they charge you the whole price ($269.00) well I receive collection letters at my mom's house from these people and they want me to pay even though I told them that it was my brother who ordered it w/o my consent and I did not know of this debt. they have not reported me to the credit bureaus and they have been trying to collect since june of 2007. the only info my brother put down was my name and my mom's address and my debit card number which i cancelled a while ago.

They have recently sent a letter to my mom's house saying they are willing to settle for 50% of the debt. I am really trying to protect my credit and am thinking of paying but don't know if I should. They don't have my SS# or anything, can they still report me?? Should i pay them??

Never talk to a CA!!!!!!! send a DV CMRRR never admit to the debt & never give any information!!!

This is not on your CR is it? IF not they prob. don't have your SS# they MUST have that in order to report!!!!

Crazy! I've had a baddie on my CR from a CA for the past four years for an online rental service like Netflix. The only thing I gave them was my name, adddress, and cc and somehow it started appearing on my CR.

i can tell they are liars. I called them yesterday and when I was speaking to the collection rep i told her that I received a letter saying i could settle this acct even though I NEVER ordered anything. She said oh yes you can, i asked her how much and she said $220 (orig bal was $269). i said the letter said i could pay 50%,,,and then she was like ok let me see here on my other screen, oh yeah $134.00

i asked if I could make payments and she said no that it had to be paid in full right at that moment or no deal...I was like well I dont have $134 to give you right now..and she said well can you pay anything right now..I said NO because if I won't be able to remove that right now then I don't want to pay anything. She said well ok but itll stay here and affect your CR..

it's not appearing on my credit reports at all, just a soft inquiry that they made.

Can they report to the Credit Bureaus w/o my SS#??

ANYONE KNOW?

All they need is your name and address or name and DOB to report.

They did a soft- so they now have your SSN-

Thanks, I guess I will have to pay them for something I never ordered to protect my CR
