CLEAR to CLOSE!!!!

For any of you that followed the disaster we got ourselves into at the beginning of the year by putting an offer in on a tenant occupied FHA property, we FINALLY walked away. We were able to get our deposit back after almost 8 months of waiting for the tenants to properly be evicted, the attorneys are now on the third try while the squatters live rent free for the duration.

We put an offer in on another home, a bit pricier but requires less renovations, and the offer was accepted 3 days after we cancelled our prior contract. Our realtor offered to pay for the home inspection as a gift and for all the hassle we went through on the previous contract. And the mortgage broker ripped up my apprasial fee check for the previous property so we didn't lose ANYthing by walking. I am SO glad I was finally able to talk my husband into breaking contract, though he is still disappointed that we are quite a bit away from the lake that the initial property was on. But we ended up trading for an inground pool and cabana instead

We received our clear to close on 8/7, for a closing date of 8/16, we are SO excited!! I am so greatful for all the knowledge I have aquired through this forum (and a few others, lol) and am happy to start the next chapter of home ownership. Thank you all for the guidance and expertice!!

Aside from getting the keys, no feeling like hearing those words "clear to close"
