Hello there,

I have been lurking and researching here for a month or so, first time posting. Great information and I have been using many of the ideas on "Rebuilding Your Credit" to get our scores up.

Question is:

My daughter and I are trying to find a mortgage lender willing to help us buy a home using USDA. Both of us would be occupying the home. The problem is, I can't seem to get anyone who wants my business and will return phone calls or emails. I asked our realtor for recommendations and she keeps referring me to big banks who don't seem to want or need my business.

I tried doing a Google search for USDA experienced mortgage lenders in my area (Destin, Florida). None of the people listed return my phone calls. Any ideas on how to find someone willing to work with us to get a USDA home loan? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

The mortgage lender/loan officer doesn't need to be in your area. They can be all the way down in Miami, or even in another state as long as they are licensed/authorized to do business in Florida.

If you want to use someone local, expand your Googling to include Ft. Walton, Pensacola or Panama City.

Thank you, I did not realize I could use anyone licensed in the state. I will expand my search.
