Probably not for a good long while. They had a major security breach, hackers got access to 100k returns to use to file false returns in future years

Yeah; I actually found it a little suspect in talking with Chase today that they wanted my copy of my tax returns from me and didn't ask for 4506-T's. Logix still spells it out, thou shalt have the IRS provide official transcripts.

Granted it's jumbo space so they can do what they want, but it was wierd. Could be that I wasn't making an offer right then and there so was just pre-qual + a little sanity checking before we get to the pre-approval point.

Oh, believe me, Chase will ask for the 4506-Ts. Don't worry ^^^Your assumption is correct. The 4506-Ts have time constraints so you won't actually sign one until you have a contract on a property.

you can still order online the system will ask you for the tax year, tax accout type and your verifying info and they can be mailed to you, I just ordered mine last night. dh on the other hand they asked hime to fill out the form and send back

Once ordered online, it took about 5 business days for me to get mine.

Chase will just make you sign a letter at the closing table giving them permission to request your transcripts when they want.
