Cleared to close! Can I breathe now?

Got word today that we are cleared to close! We are scheduled for next Friday at 10:30. This has been a crazy journey but we are almost there!

Is it safe to breathe? Can something go wrong at this point? We started this process almost 2 months ago, I can't believe we are buying our dream home!

Congrats! Yes you can breathe easy.

However I wouldn't do anything crazy until you have the keys in your hand. They can (and probably will) pull your report one more time to make sure you haven't added any new accounts or maxed out your credit cards. But you should be good to go!

Congrats! You're almost there! I was supposed to close next Friday too, but it's doubtful due to some repairs that need to be made last minute. I won't be able to relax until we have the keys in hand.

Thank you! This honestly feels too good to be true. My husband switched jobs last fall and I thought for sure that would kill our chances. I was so shocked when we were preapproved.
I agree that I won't breathe completely easy till the keys are in my hand but we are one step closer. Guess I've got to start packing now We absolutely will not buy a thing between now and next Friday but I will spend a lot of time haunting Lowes and Home Depot in the next week!

Congratulations and thanks for asking this question! I was wondering the same thing as I'm closing this Friday as well. My appointments not until 10:50 though.

PDXgigi, congrats to you! This is so exciting and it's the first weekend in a month that I wasn't waiting for underwriting or something else! I can actually relax!

Congrats and I can totally relate! We got our CTC just yesterday after what feels like just forever of having to handle some question or issue from the broker. We also are aiming to close this coming Friday if we can get our disclosures by Tuesday.

It feels great to be so close to being done, doesn't it!? 😎

This whole process is confusing. So are you suppose to get the clear to close before the disclosures? I received the closing disclosure Friday but my LO did not say that I'm clear to close.

Hey Sassy- maybe it works differently depending on the lender? We are using a mortgage broker, and we got CTC notice before the disclosures have been generated. I'll ask my broker today if that's unusual or just our particular scenario and report back....
