officially a home owner

we closed on our house yesterday. we got 2600sq ft 3bed 3 bath 1 story house for 240,069 at 5.5% intrest fixed. it was a VA loan, seller paid 3% of closing costs. i paid 1,008.44 at closing for what the builder costs didn't cover.

i think we got a good deal and i am just SOOOO glad it's over. now the real fun begins.

painter, landscaper, fence guy, doggie door guy, and security guy are all comming tomarrow lol. oh, and my new KING sized bed is getting delivered too ( i sure hope i have my keys by then, or i am going to be sitting in front og my new house on my new mattress looking silly lol)

I can hardly stand it we were just approved by the lender, waiting on USDA approval and I'm about to jump out of my skin with excitement!!!!

it is a great feeling. at dinner tonight i got the word to come get the keys tomarrow at 10am!!! soo happy it's all over and it's all ours lol...

now the REAL fun begins

You're right. It IS a great feeling to have a home

that you can call your own. And anytime you can

buy a house for less than $100 per square foot like

you guys did, it's a great deal.

Coordinating everyone who is coming to help you

might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but once

you get into the flow of things I'm sure you'll be fine.

So just pace yourself and all should go well...

Once again, Congrats on the home purchase.

what a whirlwind it has been. today i had the painter, the doggie door guy, the fence guy, the ceiling fan guy, and the landscaper all at the house at once..not to mention ups delivered my new bed too...

what a busy day..but so very worth it..

my pocketbook however is really crying at the drastic loss of money haha!

Isn't a nice, long, warm bath (perhaps a glass o' the bubbly) calling your name?! D@mn, Woman ... you are SO much tougher than me. I don't think I'll be able to breathe for a week after we move in!!

lol that must be my military training showing through...if it has to be done, it will be no matter what.

BTW- did i mention we are going to disneyland for the weekend? that's my IDEAL bath (cause i am a big kid at heart)

Man, you got my hopes up there, for a minute! 'Cause I'm only a couple of hours away from DisneyWORLD. LOL!! Not enough caffeine yet! I totally thought DisneyLAND was in Tampa!! o_O

I always get those confused!!

So what are you going to be doing in DW? DH went there while on a biz trip a few years back and said that our WORLD sucks compared to ya'll's LAND.

Oh, I understand about the military training! DH was in the Army for years and it shows, even now even though he "quit" his commission nearly 9 years ago. When we moved to this apartment, he was wearing this big ol' pair of poopkicker boots. The kind that you HAVE to wear thick socks with, right? Well, we're about 75% through with the moving stuff (furniture and big boxes mostly) and he takes those boots off to reveal a blister on his big toe the size of a fricking GOLF BALL. I kid you not! No matter how tough you are, you would have FELT it, just looking at it!!

So he looks at me, shrugs, and puts his boots back on! I almost died! And he said EXACTLY what you just said "It has to be done."

Me? I would've said "*Blankity-blank-blankitta-blank-blank* this. I'm soaking my feet!" o_O

Seriously, though, you have an awesome time. And don't spend a single moment thinking about poor ol' me stuck with the crappy DisneyWORLD.

WOW...I am jealous !

I have been in mine since August 1st...have 4 ceiling fans waiting to be installed (two of which I purchased before I moved in), doggie door sitting in the garage, dirt and weeds in backyard (have not decided what I want) and 1 1/2 walls painted in my bedroom (texture on the wall makes the painting really difficult)...WOW ! Time to get off my butt...of course after I take the Christmas tree down (Its a fake, not a fire hazard).

Of course, when it comes to spending I have excelled ! Living room is furnished, New beds in mine and the guestroom !

we are here for my mom's b-day, she turns 58 tomarrow...

i have been to disneyWORLD as well, it kinda sucks compared to disneyLAND, but thats just me lol

i had a friend who lived in tampa when i was in the navy, we used to drive to visit his family all the time from NC, his mom was a nurse and his dad a radiology tech at one of the hospitals there...

i totally feel your husband, it's just one of those things. i have 3 herniated disks in my lower back, but i still find myself doing and moving stuff because it "has to be done" just one of those military things lol, i dont think ill ever get out of that

we plan on having a nice weekend before going home and packing some more...we plan to be totally moved in with everything done next weekend.. (yeah right )
