FHA Loan Question?

First time poster.

2/1/09 TU 649 EQ 611 Fico Scores

I have not pulled my Experian score yet. My question is I have a BR around 6years ago. I have one Paid settlement from a CC 7/08.

4 accounts in good standing ontime no lates. As of this month 3 of those account are now paid. I will only have one open account.

One Medical bill that I just found $260 that was turned over to collection. I am planning to pay off this month.

I have met with a Broker but did not run my credit I want to save $$ for my depost. My wife is pushing for me to go ahead and run. I know if I can get a 620 that will help in getting a loan.

I show no inqurys on my credit.

Will having the broker run my score hurt? I believe I have 120 days once they do before they have to run again correct?

Any addvise would really help. I am working to improve my score to get the best score.

inquiries are overrated. a good lender may be able to point out a few things to work on.

dont pay the collection until after you close.... it may make things worse. <= check this fact in the credit forum.... i am not a credit expert. but collections do NOT have to be paid to get a loan
