I don't think it's the best idea...I'm sort of speaking from experience. I'm working with a LO right now that I found through LendingTree. So far I'm happy with his attention to detail and I do feel like he's working for me...but I showed my realtor our GFE today and she pointed out a lot of very large fees that were unnecessary and not normally required by area lenders. So I doubt I'll end up working with him. But I don't think it's impossible to have a good experience...I'm just not sure it's the best route.

Good luck! I know it's hard to know who to trust.

Has anyone here had experience of finding a lender by filling out info on the web and letting the site find a suitable lender for you? If so, I would love to hear your experience and what site you used.

Thanks.

Kynana

We were just discharged from Ch 13 in Sept. 2008. That plus new lending regulations did not allow me to get the answer I needed from my local bank. They offered 60% of appraisal for the refi. I thought I might do better by finding lenders that might be willing to work with our situation. I was needing 80% of value loan.
