Anyone have any opinion on Pinnacle Mortgage? How solid is there preapproval? So far the rep I am working with is quick to reply and seems to be moving things along pretty well. Unfortunately, he works in another state and I only get to talk to him over the phone> I have not found a property yet, but he says that underwriting is reviewing the AUS. Should I be confident working with this company?

I have a bank account with Pinnacle and I know they have a mortgage department. In TN, they are very well received. They have excellent customer service.

If we are talking about the same company, I wouldn't worry. But then again, every company has a loan offficer that sucks, no matter how great the company is.

There are about half a dozen mortgage companies with that same name - everything from Pinnacle Mortgage Funding to Pinnacle Mortgage to Pinnacle Mortgage Group, and ONB Bank's mortgage division once went by that name too. What doubt about your loan approval do you think there could be?

We have been working with [name edited] Pinnacle Mortgage out of Colorado, and they have been fantastic! Great team, quick to answer questions, they never left me wondering, and we're closing at 9 a.m. tomorrow - 5 weeks from beginning our home search through gaining approval and clear to close. GFE even came in $1000 less than original, bonus points.

If it's the same Pinnacle we're working with then you have no worries, everything has gone very smoothly, just like it's supposed to go. It's a hard enough process, and believe me, I tried to find every potential problem and required a LOT of hand-holding as this is our first home purchase!

Good luck!

Message Edited by Lel on 09-24-2009 01:17 PM

I am just a little nervous dealing with a mortgage company I have never heard and who works in another state. Also, I went through Quicken in a preliminary way a few months ago (what a nightmare- the sales people flip some angry switch when you question their $500 application fee to get a real approval. Meanwhile all I had while house shopping was a very weak pre-qual that they referred to as preapproved). Pinnacle seems to be completely on the up and up- but I would like to get feedback. Thank you all for your assistance.

Pinnacle Mortgage
3605 South Teller Street
Lakewood, CO. 80235

They just preapproved me for $175K @ 5% or 5.5% with $3000 towards closing. Is this common- why would they offer this? Any input is appreciated. Sounds great to me.

At 5.5% they are getting more "rebate" back than they need, and thus are offering you the closing cost credit.

They were great, but I had to go with a local bank I could talk to if things went down in a weird way. I feel guilty but this is my world and Pinnacle has to live in it. If I lived in Colorado I would definitately have used them.
