2009 FTHB Credit...lets track it!

If you all don't care lets get a time line going on how long it takes to receive your 2009 taxes with the First time Homebuyers credit.

I was interested to see how long on average it takes to receive it and if anyone has questions about it you can post it here too...

Hello! Here is my time line

Closed 11/23

Mailed in taxes with FTHB on the 14th of Feb

Not sure what date IRS recieved but update on their website said it was being processed and should be direct deposited in my acct on April 6th.

(if no other info is needed) I am in Texas..

I thought you could not get a direct deposit for the FTHB. I think you can for your regular taxes but not the credit right?

Sent mine in Oct 16

IRS recieved Oct 20

Still no word and no check.

I called and was told it was sent to exams on Jan 28, and they had 45 days to send request for additional documents. For your info, I did not send Hud 1 or anything proving I had bought my house. My address is also a P.O. box as well. I was destined for the examination department from the start!

The IRS office in fresno received my 2009 tax return along ith my FTHB documents February 7th

My status was updated this morning and stated that if no further information is needed, I should receive my refund April 6th.

...So we will see. I sent my HUD-1 and a bunch of other document ( tax statements, Driver's License, Title) just in case.

Update! Check IRS website to see if there were any problems with my return (previous message said processing and pending any problems should be deposited on the 6th of April) but there was a new message today..it said my refund is set to be direct deposited on Friday March 12th and showed the exact amount..wooohooo

good luck to everyone waiting on their return..i will keep hope alive for yall!!

Where did you send yours to RON? Mine went to Austin texas. Still no word or update on it from the IRS for me. I sent it off two before you did. I even sent extra info so there wouldn't be any problems.

But glad yours is the the way!

I'm confused.

Hmmm, interesting.....

I went to H&R Block to file my 2009 taxes & FTHB and I was told that we can no longer e-file and have to snail mail all of my tax paper work and provide a few items from a list with proof of house purchase (with my name and new address of home) due to fraud with tax credit and ppl only supplied contract for house as proof of documentation.

Were we provided incorrect information from H&R Block?

If you can e-file FTHB credit is it state specific? If so we live in MD.

IRS recived 02-01-2010 2009 amended tax return for fthbtc 8000.00 tax credit

called today and still not in there system. 3-10-2010

I guess I still have 6-7 more weeks to wait.

You can only snail mail your return if claiming the FTHB credit.

That is correct. If you are claiming the FTHB credit you cannot e-file because you have to send documentation to prove that you actually bought a house. You can still direct depost your refund it just takes a while longer this way.

The IRS website doesn't show anything for me yet either.....

Checked IRS website this morning, it now says....

We received your taxes and are processing it. Unless we find a problem it should be deposited on April 13.

Status chaged online (on IRS) that i should get my refund by 04/20.
