Hello everyone, iam just wonderign if Allstate is a good company.My loan officer recommended them for my mortgage insurance.Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to home insurance? Mortgage insurance is a different beast and usually the loan officer doesn't give you options, they typically find the lowest rate for you and get it.

For home insurance, I don't have experience with Allstate but they do seem to be respected. If your loan officer refers you to them, it sounds like they at least have a good working relationship. There is nothing wrong with getting more than 1 quote though.

If you are talking Homeowners Policy "ERIE" will blow the doors off anybody.

BUT they are in PA so they might only do PA and MD.

Allstate has always provided competitive terms for my clients. Farmer's Insurance & State Farm are two others. Even AAA (if you are a member) has good competitive rates.
