My dispute debacle

Still working on these disputes. Followed instruction on here this morning and here is how I ended up.

EQ- Dorothy is on vacation until tomorrow left as message as stated.

TR- Got thru to special handling dept. Lady was very nice but said she had to send an electronic dispute in which they typically heard back in 24-48 hours and I could call and check back. I expressed my urgency about trying to close a home loan, and she said it should be a problem as they typically hear back almost immediately???

EX- not open yet, getting discouraged.

Called Chase Bank for the second time, they said they sent out letter as we discussed on July 9th, but they forgot one important detail, THEY DIDNT INCLUDE REMOVING THE DISPUTES, ONLY CORRECTING THE ACCOUNT!!!! I must have told the lady 3 times that was the most important detail.

Called HSBC, they gave me a fax number to use. Will send a fax to work tomorrow. Unreal!!

EX is the easiest by far. They will get them removed in 24-48 hours.

TU I hate to tell you but in my case it took the full 30 days. If the account is with a well known place and they still have it in their system then yes it can be a fast reponse. However if they dont or its old it can take 30 days.

EQ I have had mixed results with them.

My concern is I am going into UW this week for the 2nd time for closing next week and my LO hasnt said anything about the disputes. My wife has 1 still on her reports.

You are correct!! EX was a breeze, simply phone and it was a done deal while on the line. The guy was very nice and helpful, wish it was so easy with the others!!

I concur with everybody. I just got off the phone with Experian, and they were great. I had 3 dispute and the rep gave me a report number and sure enough, they are in the process of being remove. EQ & TU are not too bad...

Dorothy is beyond awesome!! left her a message yesterday and she was on my voicemail before 10am this morning saying "disputes removed"!! all is well, almost got this dispute thing beat!! hope it doesnt drop my score too much.

Can I ask a question?

What type of loans are you applying for and which lender? My LO hasn't said one thing about disputes and I do have one. Is this something they told you up front or was a contingency that come up after underwriting that you're scrambing with now?

My LO told me after he pulled my credit, he said all was well except I had to get the disputes removed before lender would clear us to close. As of today I have EQ and EX taken care of. TU is the hardest and the only one I have to go. Also, I am doing an FHA loan.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm going to cross my fingers that it's just something for FHA or certain lenders. If this thing comes back as something I need to take care of after underwriting I swear I'm gonna lose it!! LOL
