In a response from Experian to my PreHippa letter they wrote:

If you question the results of our investigation, then you may want to contact the data furnisher directly. Please refer to your original personal credit report for the business name, address, and phone number (if available) of the source that verified the information. Sincerely Experian

This is the only letter I have received from Experian. I thought my letter was to initiate an investigation not to question the results?? So, what should be my next course of action? dP

When did EX receive your dispute? Is this collection marked as "disputed by the consumer and verified" on your EX report? Has the CA sent you validation after EX received your pre-HIPAA dispute letter?

No

When I first ordered my report from EX I didnt see that until looking at the printable report. This letter may have been from my personal info verification. Does that sound plausible?

Message Edited by deadpools on 04-28-2009 08:35 PM

Yes, if after you send the pre-HIPAA letter and the CRAs verifiy the collection but the CA doesn't send you validation, you send the CA the Med DV letter if the collection is unpaid (scenario #2), if its paid, you send the CA the Alt Med DV letter (scenario #3).
