I had 4 returned check from Instacheck from 2003 that I recently PIF (these were for med expenses BTW), anyway, the are ONLY showing on EQ - so I disputed them with the receipts, HIPAA info, etc., and ONE of them dropped off yesterday, but the other three are still there...they were all done on the same online dispute, as well as all done with a mailed dispute. Do you think I should worry/start disputing again (original dispute mailed 05/04/09, online disputed filed 05/12/09), or should I wait (SOOOO HARD TO DO!) the full 30-45 days? I'm anxious for my scores to increase and I'm afraid that they processed only the first item from my dispute and simply overlooked the others...

OH THE WAITING IS AAGGOONNIIZZIINNGG!!!!!

***********************************************************************
800FICOwannabe

05/14/09 - FICO scores: EQ - 671, TU 647

05/04/09 - FICO scores: EQ - 660, TU - 647
04/21/09 - FICO scores: EQ - 711, TU - 642
02/28/09 - updated Tri-Merge: EQ - 699, EX - 651, TU - 571
09/01/08 - starting scores Tri-Merge (Morgtage Enhanced): EQ - 607, EX - 556, TU - 534

Not sure if this is a HIPAA issue or not.

Is the OC the medical provider (or CA) to whom you bounced the check?

Or the bank whose check you bounced?

I think HIPAA only applies to providers and medical CAs--probably not OC banks when you bounced one of their checks on a medical bill. Head over to that board and see if they have any advice for you.

You may have gotten lucky with the one deletion.

The checks were for co-pays to the medical provider...I paid the CA, not the OC...

***********************************************************************
800FICOwannabe

05/04/09 - FICO scores: EQ - 660, TU - 647
04/21/09 - FICO scores: EQ - 711, TU - 642
02/28/09 - updated Tri-Merge: EQ - 699, EX - 651, TU - 571
09/01/08 - starting scores Tri-Merge (Morgtage Enhanced): EQ - 607, EX - 556, TU - 534

I've moved the thread over here as med debt is involved somehow here. So, we'll let Fused/HappyDays take a look and they may move you back over to RYC or they'll comment.
