Has the Hipaa process ever failed?

Has there ever been a time where a collection was not removed off your report after doing the HIPAA process?

I kindly sent a letter to my doctors office before I found this forum and reminded them that they promised to remove the med collection once it was paid and they sent me a letter back saying they talked to their CA and the CA told the doctors office they cant remove it and it stays on my report for 7 years.

I was furious and so I found this forum and sent my HIPPAA letter back to the doctors office today. I wonder what the outcome will be.

I have seen one case where a paid med collection was never removed, even after a HIPAA complaint was lodged against the OC (hospital) with the Office of Civil Rights. Right now I am waiting on two forum members who are at this stage in the HIPAA letter process. Our fingers are crossed for them.

If you want to use the HIPAA letter process, it never begins by sending your doctor the HIPAA letter first. As for the CA saying they can't delete the collection, that's a bunch of rubbish. The laws of the fair credit reporting act clearly state that any item on a report must report accurately, that's all.
