I must have done something wrong w/Pre Hipaa

Hello,

Early Feb I followed the directions (or so I thought) and sent out the pre hipaa letter to the CRA about a couple 2005 medical bills. Never heard anything back until today. I just recieved a new credit report and the medical part I disputed now says verified 2009. Thats it. Nothing else.

????? I don't understand how anything can be "verified" without ever even providing proof!!

Frustrated......

What do I do now??

The CRAs do not require any proof!! If the medical was paid then send the OC letter.

if thats the case then anything goes....how do I know I actually owe it or that it is mine? hhhhmmmmm.....

not willing to just pay it becuase they say so.

Since the collection is unpaid, the CRA verified and the CA did not validate, do the following:

send this letter to the CA CMRRR.

MEDICAL DV LETTER TO THE CA

After you receive the green card from the Med DV letter, mail this follow-up dispute letter to the CRA CMRRR.

FOLLOW-UP DISPUTE LETTER (2) TO THE CRA'S

Yes I can but I want proof it's mine first. I believe I had dual insurance during that time period IF I went to the doc at all.

I simply can't accept that the CRA can just say "eh, it's yours" and thats it, done deal. Heck, i want that job.

I agree with you. I wouldn't pay a debt unless the CA reporting it proves its mine AND they agree to a PFD.

Hi Fused, one more thing to add.......I just realized that on the results I recieved back from EQ, the fine print says that "additional information has been provided from the original source regarding this item" and to contact the CA if I still disagree......it is a hospital bill, 2 accounts in 2003 and one in 2005.

Do I DV the CA or just suck it up and pay it regardless just to get rid of it?? Would be make $ tight but not sure it's worth the hassle and low score.

why didnt the CRA provide me with that "additional" information? I don't get it. I'm doing this wrong I bet.

I better go re read the Hipaa process. I sent the pre hipaa but not a dv to the ca. Was I supposed to do both?

Only sent the pre hipaa to one CRA in case I screwed it up. Judging by all the inaccuracies and misreporting obviously the three of them do not communicate.

The 3 CRAs do NOT communicate!! It is also best to handwrite all disputes to the CRAs. You should also dispute with all reporting at the same time.

Call the provider (not the CA) Ask for info on your account. they should be able to tell you about any ins.claims that they filed.
