This past June, I had problems trying to obtain my free Equifax report through annualcreditreport.com. I called Equifax customer service, and they "reset" my account, but I still couldn't access my report. I called back, and a different Equifax rep blamed annualcreditreport.com for the problem. I emailed annualcreditreport.com about the issue, and they pointed the blame finger at Equifax. I finally ended up having Equifax mail me my report.

Hello all..Just a question for anyone who might be able to help..This morning I wanted to purchase my scores and reports from all three agencies, which I have done twice before..It let me buy Transunion & Experian but gave an error code of 713 for the Equifax one. And after the error code We were "locked out" This was identical for both mine and my husbands account. After numerous phone calls to MyFico cust. rep they reset the accounts several times but then when trying again the same thing happened over agian. I Also contacted Equifax directly to see if there was any FA or something that would prevent them from sending that to Myfico but they assured me that there was nothing on there. They said everything was fine..We also went over all the information to make sure it matched which it did...Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Wow - so I am not alone.

Does this mean they'll charge me for the 3-credit-score product even though the transaction failed? How do I rectify that then?

And is this error an Equifax database error, or something wrong at MyFico's end? Either way it's very puzzling.

I've found customer service really helpful in the past--they've always given me a free score pull or whatever when something goes wrong. I think if you just tell them what you've posted here, you'll get a refund, etc, especially since they know the system was down.

I wanted to clarify a couple of points.

One, if you purchase FICO Credit Complete or FICO Standard and we cannot deliver a report, we do not charge you. You may see a pre-authorization charge, but that is only to make sure the credit card is valid. If we cannot deliver the report, then this charge falls off within 1 to 2 business cycles depending on your bank.

Two, for security reasons the identifying data we submit to Equifax must match exactly with the data they have for you in their files. If it does not, then sometimes we cannot deliver the report to you. It does not necessarily mean there is a fraud alert on your file, just that there is something that doesn't match up, like an address. We've found that sometimes if you use Apartment numbers, like #12 or Apt 4F, we get an mismatch. If you call Equifax they will likely not be able to see the issue.

We are constantly working with Equifax to correct these data format / mismatch issues, but sometimes there are mismatches that prevent us from delivering the file. In these rare cases, you do have to go directly to Equifax to pull your file and yes, they are the only bureau that can deliver you a FICO score.

I hope this makes this issue a bit clearer.

Hey Jen,

In my case what's surprising is that I got all 3 scores from MyFico in July. I haven't changed addresses or anything since then. So it's baffling why it does not work now.

Also you said Equifax is the only other place outside of MyFico that will give a true FICO score.

So what happens if a similar error happens for TU or Experian? In that case are we permanently locked out of ever getting a true FICO score for two bureaus?

That's the issue we're trying to sort out with Equifax Gokul77 - seems like there at least a few of you on the forums that were able to order before with no problem, but are now receiving a 713 error. We're going to do some research on our end. I'll keep you posted.

Unfortunately if we're not able to deliver your TU or Experian report, then there is in fact no other online site from which you can get your own credit report and FICO score from.

Well, let me clarify. You CAN get your credit reports from a number of different sites, including all 3 bureaus, but we are the only site where you can get all 3 FICO scores that are associated with your credit reports. So, at the very least, if you can pull your credit reports from a different site, at least you would be able to verify all the data that is contained in it.

Just an update :

I successfully ordered my Equifax Fico score and report from Equifax. And then I ordered the other 2 from MyFico. There was no trouble during the Equifax process. So basically there's nothing wrong with my Equifax details.

Looks like they are just using some lame excuse to steal away your prospective customers :-)

Of course for me the cost difference is negligible (2-3 bucks), but obviously I'd rather get all 3 scores from one website (yours) than get two scores from your site and the third one from another site. Basically a matter of convenience.

Well, It's def. not a "mismatch" issue. I have had same address on both since I joined have recieved two updated reports/scores previous. Addresses and names match exactly. I receieved an e-mail from Cust Service saying.

Hi Debra,

Thank you for contacting myFICO Customer Care. And of course now another "hold" for 10.95

Geez..I wish they hadn't told me it's resolved.
