Current Address wrong only on MYFICO (Experian)

How does MYFICO derive Current Address?

On my daughter's MYFICO reports, my address is shown as her current address for Experian.

I called Experian and confimed that they are using my daughter's correct address. Experian explained that my address is included in the long list of addresses (there are 23) on my daughters credit report due to her being an AU on some of my cc's.

It appears that MYFICO is simply pulling the first 3 addresses from the list of addresses on the Experian report and uses the first address as the Current Address (which happens to be mine) and the second 2 addresses on the list as Previous Addresses . . . no other logic appears to be in place.

You're not alone on this "Personal Information" on your report. All 3 of my reports have inaccuracies as to Addresses, employers, variations of name, income, etc. I've sent certified letters with proof of address histories, employers histories, Legal names used, and income. The info I sent was clear, concise, and exactly correct. This included having appropriate agencies send all 3 agencies letters containing corrected info. It's been over 2yrs. Done the process twice; last time was over 6mos ago. Just pulled up reports tonight with zero corrections in any area, on any report. Our PRIVATE credit system in the U.S. is absolutely terrible! These 3 three for-profit companies control how we are able to save, spend, and retire. The poor stay poor, the middle class gets the brunt of taxation, and the rich get richer. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now

Well . . . what really prompted this post was that yesterday I received a collection notice from ER Solutions (JDB) addressed to my daugher at my address.

In Oct'06 the CA could not provide validation (of a bogus debt of course) and was forced to delete their listing on my daughter's CR. Now they're sending collections notices to her at my address for the same thing! Totally illegal.

btw - my daughter has never lived at my address. She moved to another state 20 years ago while still a minor.

Hi dwarfess....The myFICO reports display the addresses as provided by the bureaus, which can be different than what they show on their own reports. Fortunately, the FICO scores don't look at this information, nor do lenders use myFICO versions of the credit reports in their lending decisions.

Here's what I've discovered:

Background: When an address is added/disputed/changed by or with Experian, but not deleted, the most recently added/disputed/changed address moves to the top of the list of all addresses listed in the Personal Information section of the Experian credit report.

MYFICO does not pull actual current addresses from Experian. MYFICO merely pulls the first 3 addresses listed in the Experian personal information section. MYFICO uses the first address in the list as the Current Address and the second 2 addresses as the Previous Addresses.

How I proved this was: When daughter was added as AU on my accounts, my address was added to her Experian credit report. Thus, my address ended up at the top of the list of addresses in the personal information section of her Experian credit report. When MYFICO reports were run, my address was shown as the Current Address. To prove my theory, we disputed daughters' previous address since the spelling of street name was incorrect. Wa-La! The previous address was corrected and now appears at the top of the list of addresses on the Experian credit report. We then ran MYFICO reports again. The corrected Previous Address is now shown on MYFICO reports as the Current Address. We called Experian and asked them to confirm her current address. And yes, they indeed confirmed the correct current address.

Thus, this appears to be a programming issue when others (such as MYFICO) pull information from Experian. Doesn't look like they are able to pull from a "field" designated as Current Address.
