MyFico 10 day trial

I forgot to cancel and today is the last day of the trial period. There was no mention of a 3 month required subscription period, and if that was the case I wouldn't have signed up in the first place and just waited for a report from annualcreditreport.com I am on a tight budget, is there any possibility of cancelling my 3 month subscription and the first $15 charge which is still pending. Please

Hi sunnybains14,

While I realize it's easy to forget to cancel one of these free trial offers, I have to point out that the 3 month requirement is stated prominently within the order process. But there is a lot to digest as you're trying to understand what Score Watch does and doesn't do, and the 3 month minimum tends to get overlooked when reading through all of this.

I tried to cancel my 10 day free trial on the 10th day, and alas, I was kindly informed that I was 1 hr, 21 min too late.

Are you kidding me? What kind of company calculates your trial period to the minute rather than the calendar day? Gotcha!

This is ridiculous. Has anyone had luck in actually getting a refund in such a situation? Where does it say that you will be held to the minute on the 10 days?

I was hoping you could help me out as well. I recently (7/26/2011) signed up for Score Watch thinking it came with a 10 day free trial. I also signed up for FICO Quarterly monitoring to watch my TU score.

Having seen bewarescorewatch's post, I called myFICO to find out what date I needed to cancel before in order to not get stuck for 3 months.

To my surprise, I had mistakenly signed up for a Score Watch option without the 10 day free trial. I didn't know there were two different options. Reviewing the site now, I see that on this page, there is only one Score Watch purchase option, which does include the 10 day free trial. www.myfico.com/Products/Products.aspx.

I wanted to get a more detailed explanation on the differences of the products, and I clicked on the link on the previously mentioned page and went to www.myfico.com/Products/Compare_Products.aspx. This is the page from which I decided to order both Score Watch and the FICO Quarterly Monitoring. On this page, there is also only one Score Watch purchse option, which happens to NOT include the 10 day free trial.

I know that when I approved the purchase of Score Watch, I did agree to the three month term. Because of the 10 day free trial advertisements I saw on the previous pages, I assumed that meant I would be locked in for 3 months if I didn't cancel within 10 days. I had no idea that there were two different ordering options for Score Watch.

I have spoken to a myFICO rep on the phone, and they said all they could do is elevate the issue to the next level. From that elevated level, I have since received an email stating that due to policies in place, I can't cancel my 3 month subscription to Score Watch.

I realize this was my mistake, but I hope you can see where your website is confusing and wasn't clear that someone could actually order Score Watch without a free 10 day trial. On each page I visited, there was only one Score Watch purchase option listed. At no time did I see a page in which there was two purchase options listed, one with a 10 day trial, and one without.

The home page had a big ad about getting a free FICO score when you sign up for a 10 day free trial to Score Watch. I didn't realize I would be penalized by doing further research on all of your products. Wanting to learn more about Score Watch, I was lead deeper into your website, only to end up on a page with only one link to order Score Watch, and having that link send me on a path to agree to order Score Watch without the 10 day free trial.

I understand that my FICO Quarterly Monitoring subscription is locked in for 3 months, but there were no ads to make me believe there was a 10 day free trial. I understood going into that purchase that there were no 10 day trials being offered with that service.

I appreciate any help you can provide. I would really like to be on the 10 day trial option, or just have my subscription to Score Watch cancelled and payment refunded.

I have to say that more and more companies are doing this sort of thing. I am to the point that I don,t want to put any cc info in. I have a situation with an online college that said they would give me a grant and there would be no out of pocket money. There hasn't been any out of pocket $ they have just reported I owe 3,000.00 for 1 class. This type marketing is BS and we need to write a law or something.

I'd love some help as well. I signed up for the 10 day trial. I did email to say that I wanted to cancel before my subscription ended and yet I was still charged $14.95 for score watch. I emailed again and was basically told "oh well, sorry we'll cancel you on Aug 25th, until then, enjoy our services". Today I get an email stating my score has changed and I need to log in to see the reason. So I come here, log in and I get a page that says

Our apologies, an error has occurred... Thank you for visiting myFICO.com®.

We apologize, but you can't enter the page at this time. Either your access to Score Watch® has expired or you haven't purchased the product yet.

So can you help me? I'd either like my updated score and know what caused the change or I'd like my $14.95 back since it's not August 25th yet and I should still be able to access score watch.

Hi Thatgirl78,

It looks like you have 2 myFICO accounts: 1 for your Forums membership and one you used to order Score Watch. When you wrote in to cancel, you referenced the Forums account in error. We have refunded your $14.95 payment but haven't canceled your Score Watch in case you want to see your score and report. If you do want to see your score, make sure you access the right account or contact myFICO Customer Care if you're not sure which is which. Or if you just want to cancel, let customer care know that as well. If you don't cancel before the end of this month, you'll be charged again and won't be refunded.
