You have to dispute the TL through each CRA. They do not talk to one another.

Just from looking at the date of last activity, it seems this should no longer be reported? Do you know what the DoFD is.

I do not believe that to be completely true just based on my personal experience. I disputed only through Experian and it resulted in Equifax updateing their tradeline indicating that it was in dispute also. I never disputed directly with the creditor only through the experian's online dispute method so I do believe that when one dispute results in a creditor having to update their files, the rest follow suit. At least thats been the case with several disputes because of being a junior.

The "consumer disputes this account" is a comment placed on your account by the account holder that is reporting the account to the CRA. It was more than likely added when they received the dispute from the CRA that you filed the dispute with. When they report your account to the other CRA's the comment shows. The comment is therefore coming the account holder not the CRA.

I am a victim of id theft . I have an example that all three credit bureaus do not follow the same laws that are per the ftc. In fact i sent a police report too all three credit bureaus. Equifax is the only agency that did an investigation and blocked all the id theft accounts and took them off.

experian and transunion ignore the police report and all letters i have report id theft too the postmaster general, ftc and florida attorney generals office and i sent them a fraud id theft affidavit that was notorized and they still report the negative theft accounts on my credit reports. this has been going on since 2006 and they also block me from disputing those accounts by online and also by mail they come back saying the accounts were verified yet equifax took everything off and blocked all negative information.

i am not understanding if there are special laws by the ftc why arent the all the agencies following the same laws and doing exactly the same thing .

they were provided the same exact information and disputed the same way. i have fraud alerts on all three also.

thanks

chuck

also the scores for

equifax 663

experian 588

transunion 599
