First Savings Bank?????

Today , I received a collection letter from MCM (Midland Credit Mgmnt) re a collection for First Savings Bank. If I am not mistaken this co is a very old account. It is not on my CR's and if I remember correctly it is from over 10 + years. Can't imagine why or how MCM got this. What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciate.

If you are absolutely sure it is out of SOL, then you could send the infamous FOAD letter.

Thanks, I had to find out what a FOAD letter is. Do I have to do anything, as they are not reporting on the cr's?

No, you really don't need to do anything. It is beyond both reporting and suing SOLs. Keep in mind they can continue to attempt to collect forever. If you don't want to keep hearing from them you can send them a letter telling them this debt is no longer within SOL and you wish them to cease all communications with you.

I would watch my CR to make sure they don't try to add it or sue you.

I would also suggest sending the letter CMRRR so that you have proof they received it. I had to do the same thing with them and they eventually stopped calling (hopefully for good!).
