PFD on a Settled Acct?

Has anyone done a PFD on an already settled account? I was thinking of trying that on LVNV since of the Credit Cards I had its basically the only one with 2 accounts listed on my reports (HSBC and LVNV)..

I settled the debt but I don't want to open another can of worms to offer to PFD the balance. Especially if LVNV is such a dork to work with otherwise.

Is LVNV reporting settled or are they showing a balance?

I recently did exactly just that about 1-2 months ago. One account was with RJM Acquisitions (who are AWESOME to deal with) and the other was a local utility company. I haven't tried with credit cards or any other type of accounts but after I PFD'd them, the accounts were removed from my credit report in less than 30 days.

To make clear for those who are reading this you settled originally... was marked on your CR as settled then you went back and paid the difference for a deletion and the TL's were deleted.

Did you get anything in writing ... how did you pose your letter?

I totally agree, RJM was really super nice and always professional. Very agreeable and understanding, quite the opposite of the stereotypical collections agency.

I'm eager to hear if anybody else has had some success with PFD after they've already settled an account? Did you offer to pay the remaining balance? Or did you just ask them to delete the info off the credit report??

The LVNV is reporting Settled for less than balance. Something like that. The OC HSBC has a 0 bal and says Closed.

I'm not looking at my report but i'm pretty sure LVNV has me listed with a 0 bal now too but this was a settled account. I'd really like to have LVNV gone because of all the bad CC's i had done, this is the only one that has both an OC and CA listed. I can live with one being on there, i suppose, was just hoping to get rid of the other.
