Actually, I was starting to get impatient as to what was going on, and who owned the debt, so I called the OC to find out who owned the debt.

I explicitly said I did not admit to the debt, but I wanted to know if the debt was owned by the OC or the CA(NCO) ..They basically said that it was sold/given to NCO in December, then they purchased it back in April, and then just sold to NCO again on 8/16. This explains why EX/TU have the record listed as NCO date last reported of 3/28, and EQ listed as NAT GRID with date last reported at 7/31. They also said that soon it will no longer list on my EQ report as NAT GRID, and instead NCO.

Does this make sense to anyone? Would a utility company purchase back a debt after 2 years? I'm curious to see if this is actually true, and my CR will be updated soon with it being listed as NCO and not NAT GRID.

Hello,

I have an issue with an old utility debt being reported on my credit reports. On EX/TU it is being reported open under the collection agency (NCO), however on EQ it is being reported monthly by the original company (NAT GRID).. I'm 90% sure I can get rid of the NCO entries, but not sure how to deal with the OC reporting on EQ..

I have already DV'ed the CA and have gotten no response. Should I DV the OC also?

Any advice?

TIA

I know you dont want to DV the OC if you are still in SOL. That is a No-No. How long for the last DV? If 30 days from the RR then bump up the letter to agitated and include the first letter. I am in the same boat with the OC so any advice from the greats would be appreciated here.
