I disputed an account with the CRA and never received any information

Hello again

I am trying to do the HIPPA process with my medical bills. I was trying to erase a dispute with the CRA (experian and equifax) that i did online. This was done in 2009. The statement says:

Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act).

Does this mean that they verified the dispute? I did not get any information.

If they did not verified it, shouldn't they have erased it if they did not answer the dispute within 30 days?

I am really confused as to what to do next. Please help,

is it verified? May I still do the Hippa process?

Are you trying to remove a paid medical collection from your CR's?

I sent GW letters to have mine removed, also on one of mine I called and they removed it.

Soooo odd!! I asked a similar question and got absolutely NO response here. I don't understand what the means, either, and I'm not sure if that means that no one did ANYTHING surrounding my dispute OR that the debt was validated. Not sure what steps to take next.

When a dispute under the FCRA is filed, the CRA enters a "Compliance Condition Code" to your credit file.

The basic compliance condition codes are:

Account under consumer dispute under the FCRA

Completed FCRA dispute, consumer disagrees

Dispute concluded, information verified.

I dont see the term "meets requirements of the FCRA" anywhere in the credit reporting manual. It probsably is intended to mean that the disputed information was found to be accurate by conclusion of the dispute process.

However, the results of outcome of a dispute are not communicated to y0u by update of compliance condition code in your credit file.

Once you file a dispute, you are entitled to written response from the creditor/debt collector after 30 days from your filing of the dispute.

If the resolution of your dispute was not reported back to you, you most likely have a violation of the FCRA.

When you dispute info with the CRA's, you should have received results of that dispute within 30-45 days

If for some reason you didnt get the results after 30days, I would contact the CRA by phone or check your status online thru the CRA's web site.

When checking your status online, make sure you have your report or confirmation number.

The FCRA (fair credit reporting act) is like a rule book for the CRA's.

Account information disputed by consumer. ...means that one time or another you filed a dispute on this item on your CR.

(Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act) means they are following the rules of the FCRA rule book.

The FCRA and the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act).........Google FCRA and FDCPA.

Both are a great read about the laws,good starters for understanding your rights

The FCRA is a rule book for credit reporting for the CRA's

And the FDCRA is a rule book for the CA's
