You can always ask. Many creditors dont have reporting contracts with all CRAs, I costs them $$$ to report.

If they have a reporting agreement with the CRA, they might do it. If they dont, they arent apt to open a reporting agreement just for your account.

Has anybody every been able to get a creditor on a good TL to report to other CRAs if they only reported to one?

I have a paid installment opened in 6/2003 paid through 10/2007 that only reported to EQ.

Perhaps this is a pipe dream, but I'd like to write them and ask if they would report to the other 2.

Well, the letter took me 10 minutes. Sending to the president of the company.

Dear Mr. XXXX:

Upon recent review of my consumer credit report I found that a trade line from your company had only reported to Equifax Information Services.

I understand that under the FCRA you are not required to report to any of the CRAs. The only requirement is that if information is reported it must be accurate.

I am writing to inquire as to if you have contracted reporting with Experian or TransUnion since the time my loan was paid. I am aware that the CRAs do charge for reporting agreements.

If you have recently made agreements with either of the two other agencies I ask that you update them with payment information from the loan I had with your company.

This is a request for a gesture of goodwill. I do not fault your company for reporting policies. I am simply trying to add an older account to my credit files with other agencies. This will help greatly with my AAoA, and put me one step closer to my dream of home ownership

ACCT: XXXXXX

OPEN: 6/1/2003

CLOSE: OCT 2007

PAID IN FULL. NO 30/60/90/120

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXX

ET2(SW), USN
