704 on 2 out of 3 reports...Am I in the club????

I don't post much, but I am a stalker of this site I thought I would share my experience for those out there who are struggling to improve their credit as I am..

It has been a long journey, but one I would not trade. When my credit repair journey began my scores we in the low 500's across the board. I swear I must have read every post on this board to get an understanding of how credit really works. The information has been invaluable. There were times that I wanted to give up because it seemed that nothing I did was working, but with time and patience things really started to around.

Thanks to everyone here, I am now in the process of closing on my first home! Based on my lender pull my scores are TU 704, Experian, 704 EQ, 622. (not sure why EQ is so much lower than the others, the same data is reporting on Experian)

I am in no way done with my credit repair, I still have 5 baddies in EX and EQ and 2 on TU but this gives me new energy to get those last stubborn ones removed!

I'm hoping to hit 700 before the end of the year. It's unlikely, but it certainly can't hurt to try!

Thank you all for your kind words! I have to be honest, it was reading successful stories posted here that kept me going. At one point my EQ report was at 647!! I was in so happy, but no more than a month later a collection account appears out of no where and my score tanked to the high 5's. That was my lowest point and I just wanted to give up but I couldn't because I had a goal to reach and I wanted to own my own house so bad that I could taste it.

My goal was to reach a score of 620 so I could qualify for a mortgage, the thought of being in the in 700's never crossed my mind, heck I was just trying to get out of 500's!

aclockworkgeorge, I have 2 Capital One cards, 2 Best Buy RRZ, 1 Orchard Bank card and I am an authorized user on a Citibank card. even though my EX and EQ scores are in the 700's (besides applying for a mortgage) I am too scared to apply for a new credit card from a prime lender because I think I will be denied. I would love to have my own Citi card, they keep teasing me by sending me these "invitations" to apply for the Forward card, but I won't bite, not for at least another year or so. I have read from posters who's scores are in the mid to high 700's and they are being denied so I don't think I have a chance....YET!

Congrats on your achievement. I do understand about the long road, the ups and the downs. I am very close myself and glad when I reach that point. I have one collection remaining on TU and one on EQ. My experian score is 642 and I found that out by being denied an Amex Zync. Preparing to get a home but I'm still 2-3 years for that, not because of scores, just waiting.
