    <description>Filing a lawsuit will not stop them from reporting a collection account, nor will it stop their collection activities. It would probably take a judgement against them to ensure that. I think your best option at this point is to negotiate a PFD or some similar arrangement.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Having an issue with a hospital from earlier this year and am considering a suit.&amp;nbsp; They were supposed to pull the account back from collections (where it never should have gone in the first place) during their "research", but I've still been getting calls.&amp;nbsp; They have sent me an unsatisfactory offer that I may now challenge (still deciding).&amp;nbsp; If I do decide to take it to court, will any collection action be put on hold?&amp;nbsp; It's not showing on my CR yet, but I absolutely, 100% cannot afford to have it hit the CRs AT. ALL.&amp;nbsp; There is a 12 month rule for applying for a mortgage and I need to do that in the next 6 months.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
