Got DH switched from AU to joint on Discover, Chase next?

I spoke with a CSR at Discover a couple of weeks ago and asked about the possibility of having DH become joint on my discover AC instead of just an AU. They sent a form for us to fill out. We mailed it in the beginning of last week. When I checked today, they said his status was joint on the account now.

Great! One down.

I have 3 Chase CCs and DH is listed as an AU on those. I haven't tried to get his status changed to joint yet because he was just declined for a Chase CC, again, last October. (Probably due to the BK7 in 2003).

Has anyone had luck getting an AU switched to a joint holder on a Chase CC? I'm reluctant to try because I hear Chase does a hard pull and I don't want him to get dinged again if there isn't much chance he'll be approved for joint.

Ditto.

We do so not out of ego or a power play, but rather because we started this process in last August with ZERO accounts, except for a joint car note. I figured that if something happened to my CR then we could use hers to fall back on and vice versa. Moreover, if anything happened to me, at least she'd have history on her own that would help carry her. If one of my CCs failed due to a disability, event, or other, then her credit would not be affected.
