Got my last baddie deleted, worth 100 points!! (Kinda long! I'm excited!!)

I called and GW'd my last baddie for an ambulance bill (co-pay). I was sick at the time, and it was over looked, my own fault. I tried for months to ask the CA for GW but they refused!

After helping another poster here, it inspired me to not just give up. GW does work and if you can get the right person and explain (if there truly is a good reason, no reason why it doesn't HAVE to work)

Well, I called the OC and finally got this really helpful woman. She even called Transunion for me and they were rude to her. So, she say's I see what you mean about how these collections really affect you and how the CRA's are. Being that it was for medical, she called the CA who wouldn't budge and explained my situation.

She had put me on hold and when she came back, she said they didn't WANT to delete, but since it was the OC asking, they would. (Guys and Gals, ALWAYS go to the OC first if you can help it!)

Well, my EX and EQ have some updating (balances) to do but the collection was already off it. Both are sitting at 696 each. My TU with the collection was sitting on 667. I pulled my CCT just a few mins ago and saw the collection was finally gone from all 3. So, off to pull my fico I went. TU is now 766!!! Geesh, I had NO idea I would get that big a boost from a collection that was from 2005. That is 100 points and truly, no clue.

I got aggressive with my credit repair in Oct 2007. I spent 8k for PFD's on mostly medical accounts. (Which were more like 30k, but most were settled for less) Some I GW'd after paying, but for the most part, I worked the PFD end. I had a total of 25 collections. No matter how dismal things seem, if you keep working on it, it will pay off. If one door shuts, find another one that will open.

Many thanks to everyone here for taking the time to help me understand all of this and being able to be where I am today. I have a new start and a new attitude to not just disregard bills, sick or not. I have now implemented a plan for 'in case' I do have to be in the hospital for an extended period or I am not able to take care of my obligations without help due to problems that still come and go with my memory. (I have lupus, and had lot's a black outs. Still have a few on occassion)

That is excellent news, glad you finally tackled that ambulance issue. Congrats.

Wow 25 collections all gone!! Thats incredible.

I haven't had an such luck with any of my PFD letters and i've only had luck with 3 of my GW letters.

I still have 9 collection accounts on my credit report plus 1 paid repo account. Plus the accounts that went into CO status.

Out those 9 collections accounts 5 have been paid and I've been sending GW's almost every week.

The remaining 4 i've sent DV's and PFDs and nothing.

I still have a big hill to climb.

Great success story!

However, I did finally break over the 600 mark with TU. I'm sitting at 623. Which is not great but better then where I was sitting 9 months ago.

Holy Cow, stef! 100 points for a 2005 collection! Who'd have thought that?

The best part about this story is that by doing a good and helping someone else here, you got inspired to give it a try once again.

Keep working on them James, if I can get it done, anyone can. Persistance! Congrats on getting TU to 623!

On some of those stubborn DV's (they won't respond to), I found while working on DI's reports, to use the BBB and AG. That got a few of their attention's and deleted in a hurry. Of course these were on accounts paid to another CA (before we were married yrs back) and some were trying to collect again and refused to provide anything. I found the receipts and they insisted he send in proof. Umm, NO! I will not provide validation to them! They are gone now but it took a few months of staying on them. So keep after them to get the desired results. File those complaints when they fail to comply. It may make all the difference.

My reports just weren't as complicated, but it can still be done.
