Do Judgements really hurt your credit score.?

I am a owner of a company. HVAC. I have 2 judgements on my credit record from 3 years ago. All paid in full 1st day in court. Time is $$. Not getting really into details but 1 "X" customer brought my to court over a estimate. Can I get them removed and does it hurt your credit???

Yes, judgements are major derogatories, they will significantly ding your FICO score.

In terms of getting them removed, you would need to go through the court that issued the judgement, possibly via an attorney, to file a motion to vacate the judgement.

Recent Judgements hurt your scores significantly. Not real sure how you would get them removed other then going to the court and requesting it since its paid.

Judgements not only hammer your credit score they make creditors cringe. Even a few years down the road when the score improves the creditors will still hammer you because of the judgements.

just because its paid doesnt get it off credit report its like a cc late either gw the court...not really good will but same concept ,,..not served properly or at all or personal reason like paid judgement imediately slipped though cracks...Judges dont make any more or less money if your judgement is vacated. Chances are if it is paid company that brought suit wont even show and by that default the judge will vacate 95% of the time GO FOR IT!

To file a motion to vacate the judgement. If win or lose can that hurt my credit score also ?. I Have been in business for over 6 years.

I hate to bring bad news, but judgements are one of the worst possible things you can have on your credit report. The good news is that you can potentially get them removed, especially if they are paid. Search this forum for information about having judgements vacated. Lots of people have had success with this. Good luck!
