I closed my First Premier account in Nov. 2004 because I was so agitated with them. I had always paid it on time and closed it and PIF. A while later (I don't remember when) I was checking my reports and saw that they were reporting 2 lates, 1x30 and 1x60 days. This was way before I found these boards. TU deleted the TL and EQ removed the lates...they stuck on EX. I didn't pay attention to it thereafter. Now that I 'm fixing everything, I wanted to get rid of those baddies but I have no documentation anymore to backup that I hadn't paid late. I decided to send a GW letter - hey, it can't hurt I thought.........

First Premier then reported in June 2008 to EQ 1x30 and 1x60 and that the account is currently late 60 days! I noticed this on June 19 and fired off a fax to EQ stating that this is incorrect and is also information that had been previously deleted. I included the page from my EQ report dated May 2008 that shows the account with no late payments and closed - paid in full.

Today I received a response from EQ:

>>> We have researched the credit account. Account # - #### The results are: This creditor has verified to Equifax that the prior paying history is being reported correctly. This creditor has verified to Equifax that the
current status is being reported correctly. If you have additional questions about this item please contact: First Premier,

Current Status - 60 - 89 Days Past Due

It also shows as "Paid and Closed." The previously deleted lates (1x30 and 1x60) are showing as Jan and Feb 2004.

How do I get this corrected as quickly as possible? My EQ report is spotless except for this and I guess I would rather not have the TL removed.

Since you have disputed it, send the "OC letter" to First Premier.

You can find a sample here -

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=rebuildingcredit&message.id=3491&query.id=49356#M3491

Thanks Sidewinder, I hadn't come across the OC letter before. What are the odds of them deleting the TL?

I would tell them in your letter that you have copies of your old credit reports and your billing statements showing that you were NEVER late.
